A Place to “Come Apart and Rest”

About two hours northwest of Chicago, between Madison and Milwaukee, lies a secluded, wooded retreat known as Cedarly. Directed by retired GARBC Chaplain Andy Hagen and his wife, Nancy, Cedarly is part of the Pastors Retreat Network, offering five-day retreats to pastors and pastor couples. The program balances solitude and fellowship time. Scripture reading and private study are at the heart of the experience. The absence of phones, television, calendars, and the demands of daily living helps guests rest, reflect, pray, seek God, and remember the reason they entered ministry.

Though this retreat is designed for pastors, it has been opened to any of our chaplains who are returning from deployment. We invite our military chaplains who have recently returned home, as well as all pastors, to go to www.pastorsretreatnetwork.org for more information. It is our desire to begin a scholarship fund to allow any of our chaplains who are returning from deployment to avail themselves of this time away to rest and renew their spirit.
