Congratulations to Chaplain Jack Schultz, who was named the 2015 Squadron Chaplain of the Year for the Indiana Wing of the Civil Air Patrol.
Schultz has been serving as a chaplain with the Civil Air Patrol since 1978. He joined the Air Force following high school and in 1975 retired as a master sergeant after 20 years of service. At that point he moved with his wife and three children to Denver and enrolled in Denver Baptist Bible College, graduating in 1979. He was ordained in early 1980, but the Lord did not lead him into a pastorate. Instead, he has been busy for the last 35 years working in his church with Boys Brigade, Awana, Sunday School, choir, and usher and deacon ministries.
During his years as a Civil Air Patrol chaplain, Schultz has been recognized repeatedly for his commitment and energetic service. A commander under whom he served for 12 years noted, “His exceptional attitude prompted my nominating him for Chaplain of the Year in Indiana five times, in the Great Lakes Region five times, and nationally four times!”
Health concerns prevented Schultz from attending the Indiana Wing Conference March 13–15, where he was to receive his award, so Col. John Murdoch, the Indiana Wing chaplain, attended the Fort Wayne Composite Squadron’s meeting on March 16 and presented the 2015 Squadron Chaplain of the Year award to Schultz.

Jack Schultz has a heart for his cadets and has endeared himself to the entire squadron. His genuine care for those he serves has created a platform for incredible ministry. Congratulations, Chaplain Schultz, on this well-deserved honor.”
