Ch. Pam Russell Receives Special Recognition

Ch. Pam Russell was recognized by then Vice President Elect Gov. Mike Pence at a reception in December that was a “Who’s Who” of Indiana leadership. She was presented with the state’s highest award for any Hoosier, the “Sagamore of the Wabash.”

Pam serves as a GARBC chaplain with the Capitol Commission in the Indiana statehouse in Indianapolis. There she prays for, counsels, and holds Bible studies with women who hold elected office and serve as legislative assistants, staffers, and interns.

In addition to her ministry as a chaplain, Pam is the founder and director of the Almond Tree substance abuse counseling ministry of Bible Baptist Church, Kokomo, Indiana, and author of More than Sobriety: Resources for Biblical Substance Abuse Counseling, Addiction: A Family Affair, and Beyond the Ballot, all publications of Regular Baptist Press.

In being awarded the “Sagamore of the Wabash,” Pam is recognized for her “distinguished service to the state or to the governor.”
