CH Guyer, CAP, Promoted to LtCol

Guyer Promo thumbCongratulations to Civil Air Patrol Chaplain George Guyer III, who was promoted this spring to the rank of lieutenant colonel.

Guyer has been a chaplain with the New Jersey Wing of CAP since 2003. He has served as a group and deputy wing chaplain and currently is chaplain for the Pineland Composite Squadron, located at the Lakewood Regional Airport.

He has attended the CAP Chaplain Corps Regional Staff College and is a qualified CAP missions chaplain. He most recently trained at the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation and was certified in the CISM Basic Course, CISM Group Course, and CISM Pastoral Intervention Course. He also holds certification as a New Jersey State emergency medical technician-basic, as well as senior-level certification with the International Conference of Police Chaplains.

After serving in the Navy, Guyer graduated from Davis College, Lancaster Bible College, and Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. He spent the next 10 years serving as a pastor.

In addition to being chaplain for the Pineland Composite Squadron, he is also the chaplain for The Pines, a Continuing Care Retirement Community, and for the Harvey Cedars Police Department on Long Beach Island, N.J.
