BATAVIA, N.Y.—Grace Baptist Church welcomed Regular Baptist Chaplaincy Director and Endorser Manning Brown and his wife, Jennifer, Jan. 28. “It was a great opportunity to share about the chaplaincy with the members of Grace,” Brown says.
Don Shirk, pastor of Grace Baptist, is a volunteer community service chaplain with the Batavia Police Department, and Jeff Bartz, associate pastor, is a chaplain with the New York Air National Guard. “It was a real pleasure for Jennifer and me to meet with Jeff and his wife, Jami, to discuss the military and the chaplaincy.”
Bartz was commissioned as a captain in the Air National Guard in September and serves with the 107th Attack Wing in Niagara Falls. “As an Air Force retiree, it is a blessing to see good, godly men answer the call to serve as chaplains in our military,” Brown says. “Their ministry is vital for morale and readiness.”
While visiting Grace Baptist, they also met with Batavia police officer Frank Klimjack and his wife, Kelly. It was through the ministry and chaplaincy of Pastor Shirk that Frank and Kelly came to know the Lord.
