Riding on a Colt – Zechariah 9:9 (Advent Day 3)

By December 5, 2017No Comments

Christ came in humility. It was prophesied that our King would come riding not on a steed but on a donkey. This may seem to contradict how triumph would be ushered in, but Christ’s victory is not defined by man. Our King comes with righteousness and salvation. Pray in humility but with confidence, for by humbling ourselves before Christ, we are raised up.

This post is part of a series of reflections that take us through the Advent season. They are intended to help us set our minds on the true meaning of Christmas. Manning Brown, director of Regular Baptist Chaplaincy, compiled these reflections for his church while he was stationed in Germany.
