A Tender Shoot – Isaiah 53:1–3 (Advent Day 1)

By December 3, 2017No Comments

Isaiah asks, “Who has believed our message?” Nothing in Christ’s appearance would compel anyone to accept Him as the Son of God. His birth was humble in circumstance and He grew up “like a tender shoot.” Man saw Him as inconsequential, yet He was perfect. Pray that the beauty of Christ would be discovered this Christmas and that the message of the gospel would be believed.

This post is part of a series of reflections that take us through the Advent season. They are intended to help us set our minds on the true meaning of Christmas. Manning Brown, director of Regular Baptist Chaplaincy, compiled these reflections for his church while he was stationed in Germany.
