The Birth of Jesus – Luke 2:4–7 (Advent Day 13)

By December 15, 2017No Comments

It was time: the birth of the King. He was all-divine, yet He entered the world as a man. The One Who would one day be wrapped in the glory of God was for now nurtured by his earthly mother and wrapped in swaddling cloths for warmth. The beautiful expression of God’s love is demonstrated in utter humility. As you pray, consider this humility and honestly answer, Is your heart humble before God?

This post is part of a series of reflections that take us through the Advent season. They are intended to help us set our minds on the true meaning of Christmas. Manning Brown, director of Regular Baptist Chaplaincy, compiled these reflections for his church while he was stationed in Germany.
