Pierced and Crushed – Isaiah 53:4–7 (Advent Day 2)

The consequence of sin is death, and there is no remission of sin without the shedding of blood. Although perfect, Jesus bore the sin of man; He was “pierced for our transgressions.” He humbled Himself to the point of death so that we would not have to face a second death. Pray with thanksgiving for the salvation that comes through Christ alone.

This post is part of a series of reflections that take us through the Advent season. They are intended to help us set our minds on the true meaning of Christmas. Manning Brown, director of Regular Baptist Chaplaincy, compiled these reflections for his church while he was stationed in Germany.
