Jesus, the One and Only – John 1:14 (Advent Day 23)

By December 25, 2017No Comments

Jesus. Through no other name can people be saved. The world wants us to believe that people can chart their own paths to salvation. Good works, religiousness, clean living, and charity, while all noble, do nothing to bring people closer to God. It is through faith in Jesus alone that the hope of eternity rests. Advent comes to a close on this year’s calendar, but the pursuit of excellence that God calls us to through His Son is a lifelong event. God calls us to Him. Fill each day with living for Jesus, praying always as you go.

This post is part of a series of reflections that take us through the Advent season. They are intended to help us set our minds on the true meaning of Christmas. Manning Brown, director of Regular Baptist Chaplaincy, compiled these reflections for his church while he was stationed in Germany.
