Jesus, the Light of the World – John 1:1–3 (Advent Day 22)

“In the beginning . . .” What a beautiful place to start! God has existed from the beginning. From the very creation of time, He has, He is, and He ever shall be. God did not create us so we would be separated from Him and would stumble in the dark. God gave us Jesus, the light of the world, so the created would know the Creator. On this Christmas Eve, offer God praise for the light, Jesus.

This post is part of a series of reflections that take us through the Advent season. They are intended to help us set our minds on the true meaning of Christmas. Manning Brown, director of Regular Baptist Chaplaincy, compiled these reflections for his church while he was stationed in Germany.
