Jesus Presented at the Temple – Luke 2:21–24 (Advent Day 18)

By December 20, 2017No Comments

As prescribed by Jewish law, Jesus was circumcised and brought to the temple. Likewise, Mary offered two doves as a sacrifice. Unlike natural man, Jesus was not born into sin. As God’s Son, He came to the world perfect, yet how much greater was the sacrifice of Himself, allowing us to be presentable to God. As you pray, thank God that through Jesus’ sacrifice, our bodies becomes His temple.

This post is part of a series of reflections that take us through the Advent season. They are intended to help us set our minds on the true meaning of Christmas. Manning Brown, director of Regular Baptist Chaplaincy, compiled these reflections for his church while he was stationed in Germany.
