A Child Is Born – Isaiah 9:6–7 (Advent Day 6)

A birth foretold. But not just any birth. This child would be called “Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” What a glorious day! The reconciliation between man and God would come to earth as a child, a child in whom all hope rests. As you pray, remember that Christ calls us to come with a childlike faith, trusting in the love of our Father.

This post is part of a series of reflections that take us through the Advent season. They are intended to help us set our minds on the true meaning of Christmas. Manning Brown, director of Regular Baptist Chaplaincy, compiled these reflections for his church while he was stationed in Germany.
